​Homelessness is a sobering reality that affects every city in America. Portland Multnomah county area is leading the nation in the rate of unsheltered homeless families with children. Women and unaccompanied youths are especially vulnerable for lack of shelter, safety, food security, and even basic hygiene needs. This is a humanitarian crisis that demands coordinated efforts at the local, state, and national levels to tackle. However, we as individuals can contribute in our own small and yet meaningful way to help with care and compassion.
